You Stole My Love (Graham Gouldman / Barry Greenfield)

You Stole My Love was originally released by Graham Gouldman's group The Mockingbirds in 1965.

The Yardbirds recorded the backing track for this song on 22nd December 1966, in their first post-Beck studio session. It was produced by Paul Samwell-Smith.

These lyrics were never recorded by the Yardbirds - they only recorded the backing track.

I gave you all that I had to give,
I swore without you I'd never live,
The greatest love that had ever been,
Cooled off and that was a sin.

There'll be a time when you'll regret,
And curse the day that we ever met,
You'll pay the price that a sinner pays,
And go to hell for your thieving ways.

You stole my love,
You stole my love.

I thought this time I'd found the one,
I was a fool you led me on,
It cut me deep it made me scream,
Get ready for your darkest dream.

All is pure to the pure,
All is sure to those in the web of love,
To those in the web of love,
I don't know when but it will come,
Revenge is sweet it will be done.

You'll pay the price that a sinner pays,
And go to hell for your thieving ways,
All is pure to the pure,
All is sure to those in the web of love,
All is pure to the pure,
All is sure to those in the web of love,
To those in the web of love.

You stole my love,
You stole my love.
